Dear Parents,
A reminder that tomorrow night is Author Night for the grade 1 and 2's, from 6:30-7:30 pm. It is a chance for students to share with you some of their favorite story books, and to share some of their writing. We hope you can all make it!
Thank you.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Kam

Reminders
May 23, 2013
Dear Parents,
Hope you all had a great long weekend! Here are some things that are happening in our class and some reminders.
Camp Read- on Wednesday afternoon, students were mixed into multi-age groups and moved into various classrooms discuss, hear, and follow up on stories related to cause and effect. Another wonderful opportunity for students to engage in stories and work with a variety of other age levels.
In our class, we have started talking about ANTS. Students are also participating in choosing activities about the topic of ants.
In Social Studies, we continue to talk about symbols and mapping, and will also be looking at some of BC and Canada's landforms and waterbodies.
In Math, we have continued to work on adding and subtracting larger numbers, doubles, and are starting on some data collection.
We will soon be wrapping up our unit on Fairytales, and students are currently working in small groups on a reader's theatre with some of the stories being fairytales.
Reminders:
Scholastic orders are due tomorrow so we have enough time to do the order and get it back before the end of June.
Outdoor School Forms and money are due back by tomorrow.
Also, if you still have one of the "update your information" sheets (emergency contacts, etc.), please return it as soon as possible.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Kam

Students did a great job at the Primary Music Fest this week, even learning a couple of new songs while they were there. It really is wonderful how many students are participating in our primary choir, too.
Also, last week, the students did a great job in working in teams to build litters for our day of Inquiring Minds. The parade and obstacle course turned out. I will try to post a few photos shortly.
Just a reminder that Fun Day is coming up this week, on Friday, and students will be dismissed by 12:30.
Thank you.

Dear Parents,
Just a reminder that students will be attending the Primary Music Festival tomorrow. Our departure time is just before recess, and a return of about 12:30. Choir students will be staying on for lunch, and
Part of the afternoon.
I am still accepting a parent volunteer if anyone is available.
Students are encouraged to dress casual, but rubber boots are not recommended ( not that we are expecting rain!)
Please ensure that if you have not returned permission forms that they come in tomorrow morning.
Parents are welcome and encouraged to come and watch.
KM Club- just a reminder for students to try to wear comfortable walking/running shoes on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
May 15- parent meeting for Outdoor School
Thank you.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Kam
