Dear Parents,
Thankfully , the weather cooperated for us yesterday and we only received a small amount of rain near the end. The kids had a great time with the scavenger hunt, beach play, games and walk.
Thank you very much to the parents who were able to come and help us out. I am working on loading some photos to my home computer, which I can then hopefully post.
Also, I wanted to take this opportunity to say a big Thank You for the lovely year end cards and gifts. The support this year both in and out of the classroom has been greatly appreciated by Laura and myself.
We both hope you all have a wonderful summer with your families, and wish all the best to Zoe, Megan and Ryan as they move on to new adventures in new schools in the fall.

Ambleside
June 24, 2013
Dear Parents,
Thus far, our year end trip to Ambleside is still set to go ahead.
We are asking students to: bring a bag lunch in a small backpack
dress accordingly for the weather, a rain jacket and possibly boots
sunscreen/hat (weather dependent)
We will provide a map/info for parents that are volunteering so you know our meeting spots and station locations.
We are leaving the school at 10:00, so are asking for parents to then meet us down there by 10:20, by the south side of the concession stand.
We are requesting that students are not having anything bought at the concession.
A gentle reminder if you have not had your child return their form and money, to please do so by tomorrow.
Please let us know if you have any questions.

Dear Parents,
I'm sure many of you will have some excited little bodies on your hands at the end of the day today! Hopefully they got some of the somewhat dry weather we got today. I look forward to hearing their stories when we see each other on Monday.
A few things:
1. Spelling textbooks need to be returned as soon as possible if kids have not done so already.
2. Homework bags also need to come back to be checked off.
3. Mrs. Voth has asked me to remind anyone who might still have outstanding library books to please return.
4. Field Trip- please try to have in forms and $7 by Monday at the latest, and we could also still use at least 1, if not 2 parents to volunteer to help us out at Ambleside on Wednesday.
5. On Monday and Tuesday students will be bringing home some of their classroom supplies and books. If possible, please send your child with a sturdy (plastic) bag for some of those items. I will bring a few extra plastic bags.

Outdoor School- Tomorrow, students are being asked to leave their bags outside in the morning, and will come in at the regular time for attendance before leaving.
***Also, we are still in need of a few more parents to help us on our field trip to Ambleside next Wednesday the 26th. Please let us know if you are available.

A few Important Reminders about the last 2 weeks

Outdoor School- please remember to label everything, and if you have any medications to please bring them to me when your child is boarding the bus on Wednesday morning, and I will pass it on to the attending teachers. If you have any last minute questions, please do not hesitate to ask. Myself and Mrs. Faganello will be teaching the remaining grade 1's, 2's and 3's that are not attending. We went over the student booklets today and the kids are so excited!
Ambleside- please return permission forms and $7 as soon as possible. Also, we have one parent able to come and help supervise on Wed. the 26th for our year end, but are hoping for 4 more if possible. Please let me know if you are able to help out, it would be greatly appreciated.
School Supplies- a reminder if you could please help your child to bring in their homework bags and spelling text books as soon as possible and any remaining library books.
Lost and Found- is on display outside of the library if you wish to take a look for any missing items.

Students organizing the walk/bike to school initiative dropped in to say that kids could bring a cup or mug for hot chocolate tomorrow, and will be asked how they got to school.
Field trip-a notice will be coming shortly, but it will be on Wed. June 26 to Ambleside. We'll be going by bus, but will need about 5 parent volunteers per class to come and meet us by car. Please let us know if you might be available.

A notice is coming home today for students to pledge to "travel smarter" if they can and if they wish to pledge, need to bring back the pledge card tomorrow, June 6. The class with the highest number of pledges has a chance to win transit tickets.
Also, you will now hopefully be able to get email notifications by putting in your email address on the side of our blog page and clicking "subscribe"

Dear Parents,
Thank you to those parents who were able to come out for Author Night. I apologize that we did not realize that many of you have not been receiving our blog updates. We are currently making inquiries as to how this might be solved, and will update you more formally if needs be.
Some upcoming activities:
Ice Cream Social- happening on the evening of Thursday June 6. Come on out with the family and enjoy some ice cream and entertainment in celebrating and appreciating the families of Brooksbank!
Outdoor School-it is fast approaching! Please let us know if you have any questions.
Km Club- students are working hard and km club will be wrapping up soon.
We are also in the process of planning our primary year end field trip, in which we will likely need some parent volunteers. Details and a notice will be coming soon.
