Feb. 24

Dear Parents,

Tomorrow is a DPA day, so please help your child to have some runners to wear in the gym (if they don't have some already at school) as tomorrow will likely be another boots weather day. 

Wednesday- students are encourage to wear pink in support of Pink Shirt Day, a province-wide annual anti-bullying initiative. Students will also be attending an assembly in the afternoon based on that theme.

Also in relation to that we are talking about Friendship this month.

Volunteer schedules for March we're put into students boxes today.

Looking ahead- report cards for this term will be coming out soon, and we will be having student-led conferences during the last week before the break.

Supplies- we have noticed that certain items such as pencils, glue, or erasers may be running low, so there may be some notices coming home to let you know if your child needs to replenish any of their supplies.

Dear Parents,

 

Some updates, and reminders:

1. Scholastic orders- went home yesterday and are due back by Friday Feb. 21

2. DPA- a reminder that students should have proper footwear for these days rather than boots or slip on shoes for safety and comfort.

3. Math- we are doing some work in measurement right now, particularly with non-standard units.

4. Home reading- please assist your child by reminding them to change their home reading books, and  encourage them to make a switch if they have something that seems either too easy or too difficult.

Spelling test this week is on Thursday due to Pro-d on Friday. Next week our list will have Valentine words.

100's Day- will be Feb. 12. A reminder notice will be coming home, but students should be thinking about a collection of 100 items they can bring to count and sort with.
