Week of March 30

March 31, 2015

Dear Parents,

Some reminders and things coming up:

1. There is no school this coming Friday or Monday due to the Easter weekend. Students will have their spelling test on Thursday. Please continue to support your children in arriving on time Monday mornings as that is when we do our pre-test first thing, as well as bringing in their spelling notebook.

2. We are excited to announce that we will be getting some baby chicks to come and visit with us in the open area as part of our science studies! 

3. Students were introduced to new choosing stations yesterday with some activities related to chicks, Spring, and Easter.

4. This is also a heads up that KM Club will be kicking off next week, so please help your children to choose appropriate footwear particularly on those days.

5. This week we are measuring length, height and distance, then moving into the mass of objects.

6. If you visit the library in the near future, perhaps suggest some poetry or rhyming books to your children as we will be doing some poetry in class in April.

Welcome Back!

March 23, 2015

Dear Parents,

We hope you had an enjoyable time with your children over Spring Break. I was kept busy with travel to Vancouver Island, soccer, hockey, birthday party and parks!

Some upcoming things for our class:

Recognition Assembly: Wednesday March 25 at 9:45

Spelling- Unit 19 this week, and I have added a couple of extra words that may relate a theme we are doing, or follow the same rule as the rest of the list

Volunteers- a new schedule for April was sent out today

Math- we are continuing to talk about measurement

Language Arts- we are doing some work related to Spring and Easter, which will be followed by a further study on Poetry.

March 2 Week Important

Dear Parents,

Conferences- a reminder that Student-Led Conferences are taking place this week on Tuesday and Thursday. I notice there are some names missing, so please try to sign up as soon as you can. If you are unable to physically get into the school to sign up, please contact myself or Mrs. Faganello and we can try to help from this end. Thank you.

Scholastic- order forms will be going home today, and will need to be back by this Thursday so I can try to order before Spring Break.

Tuesday and Thursday are 2:00 dismissal days due to conferences.
