Multicultural Lunch

Dear Families,

A great big Thank You for all of the wonderful foods that were brought in yesterday. It was wonderful to see and try the many different types and flavours of foods.
It also happens to tie in nicely with what we are looking at in Social Studies, which is looking at different aspects of local and other worldly cultures.

Sincerely,
Mrs. Kam

Multicultural Lunch

Dear Parents,

This is just a follow up to the Brooksbank Bulletin regarding our lunch.
It will this coming Wednesday January 27.
Gathering and eating will be between 12 and 12:40, then students will head out for a playtime.

If you are able to contribute a dish from a culture of your choosing, that would be lovely. Perhaps a family favourite, a main dish, meat, fish, fruit, vegetable, etc.

Please be conscious of:
- no nuts
- we are unable to reheat or refrigerate
-it would be helpful if portions were pre-cut as needed
- a utensil to serve (with child's name)
- a short description, or even other photos of places's you have been

Food can be brought in Wednesday morning, or by 11:45 at the latest
Students WILL need to bring their own plate, utensils and drink.

If you are able to join us, and assist, please let me know.

Thank you.
Sincerely,
Lisa Kam

Week of Jan. 18 multicultural lunch

Dear Parents,

In follow up to the recent Brooksbank Bulletin, a reminder that this Wednesday is our school wide Multicultural Potluck lunch. If you are able to send your child in with something to share from your family background, that would be lovely. If so, feel free to help your child share a few words on what it is.

In past experience, students have been asked to come in with utensils and a plate, so I recommend that just in case.

If there is a parent interested in helping out in the classroom at lunchtime on Wednesday, please let me know.

Thank you.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Kam

Ten frames eg. 4 _  _ = 9

Grade 2- recognizing that if 4+3=7, then 7-4=3 and 3+4=7

Please let me know of you have any questions.
Thank you.

Week of January 4, 2016

Dear Parents,

Welcome back! It was great to see familiar faces today and looking forward to seeing those that we missed. Mother Nature continues to bring us winter weather! Although the snow will likely be short lived, it is still chilly out so please continue to help your children dress for the weather.

Spelling- grade 1's got their list today; grade 2's will start tomorrow as we were fortunate enough to have a guest in the school today working on some dance with all of the classes

Gym sense- students are bringing home a notice today in regards to the the gymnastics we will be starting tomorrow. Please return the $10 and permission form as soon as possible.
