Artist for Kids Workshop

Dear Parents,
We were fortunate enough to have Megan come from Artists for Kids to do a sculpture project with us that involved drawing, shaping wire, tearing, and using glue to cover the base. Student work is currently on display in the front glass case if you get a chance to drop in.

Photos from 100's Day

Dear Parents,
A milestone day! We counted and compared our collections, and even tried to see how many exercises we could do in 100 seconds! Here are a few photos:

Read to Succeed

Feb. 2, 2016

Yesterday we had guests from the Vancouver Giants come to talk to classes about their Read to Succeed program. Students are challenged to do 2 straight weeks of reading and an extra 30 minutes activity outside of school time which makes them eligible to see a future Vancouver Giants game!

February 2, 2016 important dates

Dear Parents,

Welcome to Groundhog Day!

We have many things coming up in the next few weeks!

Chinese New Year- is coming up next week, but we will be tying it into our Social Studies Unit.

Hoops For Heart- students should be collecting any pledges they can get and returning their envelope on our event day of February 10.

Friday February 5- Pro-d (no classes)
Monday February 8- Family Day (no classes)

Read to Succeed- students have little passports to fill in with their reading and activities over the next 2 weeks, then it can be returned for a chance to go to a Giants game.

Valentine's Day- as it falls on a Sunday this year, handing out of Valentine's will likely take place on Friday February 12. If your child brings Valentines, please assist them to include all class members. Thank you.

February16- we have a guest coming from Artists For Kids to work with us for a good part of the morning. I hope all students are able to be here.

100's Day- Area B will be celebrating together about mid February. A notice will come home with more details, but this is a heads up that students will need to come with a collection of 100 items that can be shown and counted.

Please let us know if you have any questions.

Thank you.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Kam
