Inquiring Minds Jan. 31

Dear Parents,

As mentioned we have our multi-age inquiring minds project happening on Tuesday.

Children have been asked to bring in a box. Some of the supplies that may be provided include tape, brass fasteners pipe cleaners popsicle sticks and string.

Children may bring from home additional items to decorate that may include beads, Pom poms etc. Or even lights or small wheels.

The challenge will be for students to find a way to engineer a character, creature or thing that represents all of the individuals on the design team.

At the end, there will be an opportunity to share their final product.

We are looking forward to seeing their ideas!

Next Week Events Jan. 23- Feb. 1

Dear Parents,

A reminder- if you don't have your Symphony form and money back, we need it ASAP.

A few things coming up:

1. Saleema Noon- our talk with her is on Wednesday

2. Monday Jan. 30- lockdown drill ( as explained by Mr. Kelly)

3. Inquiring Minds (What to do with a box) on Tuesday Jan. 31- will be a whole school event where students will be working in multi-age groups. Part of the requirement is that EACH STUDENT needs to bring in an empty box. Sizes can vary.

4. Multi-cultural Lunch- Wednesday Feb. 1 - also a whole school multi-age event. Students are invited to bring in something to share that is a family favourite, or traditional favourite. Please send your child with a PLATE, UTENSILS, and if they come with a dish, something to serve it with. I am hoping to have at least one parent volunteer if possible. Please let me know if you are interested.

Dear Parents,

Some reminders about our bowling on Monday:

-please send your child with their BOOSTER SEATS

-drivers can come just before the end of lunchtime

-students are encouraged to WEAR WHITE on top

-your child should be wearing socks, and it may be helpful if they know their shoe size

DRIVERS- if you haven't already, please get your volunteer driver forms and abstract to the office first thing Monday morning.

Bowling 2017

Dear Parents, 

The following notice will be coming home today. It has information and a permission slip for a field trip to go bowling on Monday January 16 in the afternoon! The cost will be $6 and we will need PARENT DRIVERS. 

If you are able to drive that would be greatly appreciated; you will need the need the necessary volunteer driver form and abstract to be given to the office ahead of time.

Dear Parents,

Happy New Year! Welcome to 2017!

Hopefully you have had an enjoyable 2 weeks with your families and not been impeded too much by the surprisingly snowy weather. 

A reminder that school will be back in session on Tuesday January 3rd, and that this week will be starting tennis will all of the classes. Please help your children to have proper footwear for in the gym, as well as in the classroom, especially as I'm sure that many will be coming to school in their boots and winter gear.
