Conferences- Important

Dear Parents,

This week, there will be a sign up sheet posted for parent-teacher-student conferences. As you know, this term we are trying a new type of reporting and conferencing. Our meeting times will be for 15 minutes and in an effort to have both myself and Mrs. Venturini present for the conferences, we are scheduling ours for Monday March 6 and Tuesday March 7. Please sign you and your child up for a time. If for some reason you are unable to get into the school to sign up, please let us know and we can try to help with that.

Pink Shirt Day

Dear Parents,

Here are a few photos from our pink shirt day last week. A sea of pink to support a very important cause. We also read a story on that day about how to "fill someone else's bucket" and we shared many great ideas.

Thanks again for your support with our recent Jump Rope For Heart Event. A great cause that we can all relate to! (Sorry they are a bit blurry)

100's Day

Dear Parents,

On Friday the 17th we are celebrating 100's Day. As part of our celebration, we have asked students to prepare a collection of 100 items to share and sort with the class. Please help your child to prepare an inexpensive collection to bring to school. Suggestions for collections could be as simple as: dry beans, pasta, small rocks, pebbles or rocks. We may be comparing size and shape, so don't be afraid to be creative.

Week of Feb. 14

Dear Parents,

We hope you enjoyed Family Day!

We look forward to sharing Valentine's Day tomorrow at school.

Jump Rope For Heart- a reminder that the actual skipping will be taking place on Wednesday, so please have your children bring in their envelope with any donations that have been collected, as well as helping them to remember proper runners for skipping.

100's Day- a notice will be coming home, but a reminder that it will be this coming Friday. Students should be thinking about their collection of 100 things.

Week of Feb. 1

Dear Parents,

A few dates and events coming up:

1. Scholastic order- due by Feb. 6

2. Jump Rope For Heart- students should be trying to collect pledges, and have an opportunity for prizes. Any donations collected are due by Feb. 15, which is also the day we do our skipping, led by grade 7's.

3. Valentines's Day- also quickly approaching! Just a reminder that if your child is doing cards to please include all members of the class, and for any little additional treats to please be mindful of any allergies.

4. 100's Day- we traditionally celebrate this in area B with a variety of activities, including asking the children to bring in a collection of 100 items that can be sorted and counted. I asked students yesterday to start thinking about a possible collection, and will post the date once it has been finalized, along with any other details.

What to do with a box- Inquiring Minds

Dear Parents,

It was wonderful to all all of the students here to participate in our school wide box project yesterday! It was a great opportunity for teamwork, creativity, and working with various age groups. Students spent the mornings with their groups planning and building, then after lunch had an opportunity to find out about what other groups did. Creations are now on display in the front hallway and down the Area B ramp. Here is a sample:
