Interviews

Dear Parents,
A heads up that reporting conferences are coming up. We will be using a similar online sign up (Sign-up Genius) to what we used last year. The sign up will go live this coming week.
These conferences will involve Teachers, Parents, AND Students. Last year this format was used in the Spring, but this year we are doing it for Term one. We would like everyone to sign up please.
We will be setting up our schedule so that both of us can try to be in attendance.

Thank you.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Kam

Week of October 29th

Dear Parents,

Welcome to Halloween week! As Mr. Kelly outlined in his email to parents, we will be doing a parade with costumes (dressing up is optional) on Wednesday afternoon, culminating in the gym. Costumes should be age and school appropriate, and without weapons.

We scare Hunger- our Do Good commitee is collecting extra candy and canned items tomorrow for donation.

As a reminder, due to to an increasing amount of wet weather, and our extra time outside during our "fire drill" yesterday, we encourage you to help your children have boots on wet days, inside shoes, and  some extra clothing just in case.

Spelling- grade 1's and 2's have spelling practice this week

Nov. 2- Pro-d

Scholastic- a new flyer will be coming out shortly for November. Although a few books from the October order just came in, i apologize that some have not yet. After a lengthy discussion with Scholastic, we figured out that a couple of the online orders had been put under a different account and are thus being shipped separately.

Wonder Wednesday- a new question- Why do we carve pumpkins at Halloween?

Thank you.

Week of October 15

Dear Parents,

A few reminders:

Spelling- grade 2's have started this week. There is a sheet that should have come home for them to be practicing their list (lower case, letters facing correct direction etc.) each day, then bringing it back on Friday. Grade1's will be starting next week. Much of the initial work will be through oral discussion, but students will be getting a sheet to take home with some practice activities.

If you happen to be going away for an extended period of time, please also let the office know and they can put absences directly into the system ahead of time.

As we are starting to see the need, we are asking each student if they could please bring in a kleenex box to be shared.

Volunteer Schedule- I am currently working on November so it will be ready for next week. Thank you for letting me know if you were unable to make it or needed to make changes. Much appreciated.

Math- we are moving into counting and number sense. Please feel free to spill out some objects to have your children practice counting and skipcounting.

Thank you.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Kam

Dear Parents,
Today we had an assembly in connection with Orange Shirt Day. Students watched a video clip, as well as heard stories read by Mr. Kelly. As a follow up activity, students in the school are being asked to bring in a (non-decorated) rock that they have chosen, not too big, not too small, a just-right-for-them rock that we will be decorating. I have asked students to have by WEDNESDAY morning please.
Thank you.

Mrs. Kam
