Week of Jan. 15, 2018

Dear Parents,

We are now back into the swing of things.

In math we are continuing to work on adding and subtracting, working towards the use of bigger and bigger numbers. This week one of the things i have asked students to do is practice adding a 10 to numbers, and to continue addition and subtraction of basic facts to increase their speed for when we work with the bigger numbers.

Yesterday, due to weather circumstances, it was decided to have our Loutet Farm visit in the classroom. Students looked at various fruits and vegetables and their countries of origin as well as putting some food scraps into containers to see if any of them will grow.

Next week we will be starting Gymsense during our gym periods. A request please that girls are not wearing nylons or tights with feet on our gym days as students will likely have to have barefeet on the equipment for safety reasons.

A reminder that our District Pro-d for this month has now been shifted from Friday January 19 to Monday January 29.

Dear Parents,

A reminder that tomorrow afternoon we will be heading out to collect donations for our Jingle Walk. In light of the recent cooler weather, please help your child to dress warmly (and have comfortable footwear). Also, if you happen to have any spare boxes that could be used to hold food donations once we have started to gather them at the school, please send them.

Jingle Mingle- our big event is coming this Wednesday night, please continue to make donations to our "Date Night" basket if you are able.

The children did a great job last night! So nice to see many of you were able to come out and watch.
Looks like we have helpers for both Friday and Monday for our Jingle Walks- thank you I’m advance!
Please help your children to dress warmly- hats, gloves, warm footwear and jackets are highly recommended.
