Week of April 8, 2019

Dear Parents,

Here we are in April! Here are some things coming up:

Spelling- 2's will be doing Unit 20, 1's will be doing unit 19

KM Club- we'll be doing our kick-off assembly tomorrow, then starting on Wednesday. That being said, please help your children to dress in comfortable and appropriate clothing and footwear ad we usually go rain or shine (unless the weather is really miserable!)

Eggs have arrived! Continuing with our fspring tradition, we now have 2 incubators in Area B, and a hope that in a few short weeks we may have some hatch.

Outdoor Learning- we now have enough volunteers to go ahead for Wednesday. Please have your children dress appropriate for the weather as right now the forecast is for it to be a bit wet.

Week of March 4

Dear Parents,

A few reminders about the upcoming week:

Thursday March 7- primary field trip to The Symphony

Spelling- new units coming this week. 

Grade 1 parents please encourage your children to try printing some sentences on the bottom section on the back side of their page.

Grade 2 parents please encourage your children to print their words using lower case letters unless a capital is required.

Wednesday- looking for a couple of volunteers for Outdoor learning between recess and lunch. 

Conference sign up should be going live sometime tomorrow. Please choose a time to come and meet with us.

Week of Feb.25

Dear Parents,

A reminder that tomorrow afternoon we will be bowling. Please send booster seats, and drivers please finish up with any remaining paperwork. thank you again for driving.

Wednesday- will be oink shirt day. we encourage you to talk with your children about what that day means, and to wear a pink shirt if possible. 

** As a result, there will not be outdoor learning happening that day

Reporting period- a heads up that the next set of reports will be published on March 8th, but we will be holding parent-teacher interviews in the week following. Stay tuned for an opportunity to go into Sign-up Genius to pick a time to come and meet with us. We look forward to seeing all of you.

Feb. 12

Dear Parents,

Well, here we are on a snow day. The plan is still to go out during recess and lunch tomorrow so please be sure to send your child prepared for the weather and extra clothing might not be a bad idea.

Further to that, inside shoes are also preferable to boots in the gym.

Due to no class today, I will be holding off on Wonder Wednesday as students have not received the question yet and we will need to be filling in something important that we have missed today.

Dear Parents,

Here we are already into a busy month. On Monday we honoured Gerry and his wife who started and help to maintain our lovely garden. Yesterday one of our parents came in to share some traditions about the Lunar New Year, and this coming Friday is our 100th day of school. We also had a guest Musician come in to play for us.

A reminder to please have your child bring their 100 items as well as their assigned snack fro Friday.

Yesterday I sent home a class list for students who wish to do Valentine cards for their classmates, remindeing them to please make sure that they include everyone.
