Dear Parents,

It was a little soggy, but we got a good re-introduction to the Loutet Farm last week, getting a chance to measure some plant growth as well as matching seeds to what they grow into.

In Math, we have started a unit on graphing and data collection.

In Social Studies, we have recently started having a once a week visit with one of our Family of Schools teacher leader to work with us on making some connections between people and their environment, including some stories of the First Nations.

As part of Reading Awareness Week, the school has been host to a book sale, and we have also participated in a school wide story write in which each class contributes a paragraph. Today, we also did a teacher swap- I went to read a story with Ms. Tozer's class, and she came to read a story to our class!

Km Club is now up and running and hopefully we will continue to get more weather like we did today!

Ecology Center- a yellow form came home with information about an upcoming field trip. We will require parent drivers, so any help on that would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Kam

March 30, 2017

Dear Parents,

Welcome back after Spring Break! We have many exciting things coming up.

First, we are now hosting an incubator with eggs that hopefully in a few weeks will result in some hatched chicks. It is a wonderful experience, as students who saw them last year can tell you.

Garden Visit- we will be popping in to Loutet Farm this coming Wednesday at 11:20 (for 30-40 minutes). It has been suggested we have a second adult if possible. Please let me know as soon as possible if you are interested or available.

KM Club- we will be kicking this off this week with a short assembly on Tuesday and our first run starting on Thursday afternoon. KM Club will be on Mondays,Tuesdays, and Thursdays so please help your child to dress in appropriate footwear (and clothing) particularly on those days. As well, as the weather gets warmer, you may want to send your child with a hat, water bottle or sunscreen already applied.

Thank you.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Kam

Week of March 6

Dear Parents,

A big thank you to all for attending our 3 way conferences this week. We enjoyed hearing from both you and your children!

A reminder that tomorrow is PJ Day, and the Do Good group is also helping to collect toonies and loonies for Finn for cancer research.

Zumba- students really enjoyed, perhaps she will be able to come again next year.

We hope you all have a safe and enjoyable Spring Break with your families and we look forward to an exciting new term!

Sincerely,
Mrs. Kam

Conferences- Important

Dear Parents,

This week, there will be a sign up sheet posted for parent-teacher-student conferences. As you know, this term we are trying a new type of reporting and conferencing. Our meeting times will be for 15 minutes and in an effort to have both myself and Mrs. Venturini present for the conferences, we are scheduling ours for Monday March 6 and Tuesday March 7. Please sign you and your child up for a time. If for some reason you are unable to get into the school to sign up, please let us know and we can try to help with that.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Kam

Pink Shirt Day

Dear Parents,

Here are a few photos from our pink shirt day last week. A sea of pink to support a very important cause. We also read a story on that day about how to "fill someone else's bucket" and we shared many great ideas.

Jump Rope for Heart

Dear Parents,
Thanks again for your support with our recent Jump Rope For Heart Event. A great cause that we can all relate to! (Sorry they are a bit blurry)
