Week of October 16

Dear Parents,

We have been fortunate to have two special presentations already this week. The first was titled Friend 2 Friend which was exploring friendship tips done through discussion and the use of puppets. It was showing different ways to recognize similarities and differences amongst peers and how to include others.

Yesterday was a great performance at Presentation House of Where The Wild Things Are.
Unfortunately I was not permitted to take any photos but students did get to participate in different parts of the storytelling and even got to wear masks!
Thank you again to our parent drivers.

A reminder that this coming Friday is a Provincial Professional Day, so no classes will be in session.

Parent Volunteers- a schedule for the month of November has been sent out. Please let me know if there is a date that doesn't work for you.

Wet weather- as we saw yesterday, rainy days are upon us! Please help your child to wear/bring appropriate clothing and footwear (extras if needs be) and to have proper shoes for when we are in the gym.

Spelling- this week we are practicing short e words Unit 4

Thank you.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Kam

PAC e-mail contact sign-up list

Hello parents,

If you haven’t already, on Tuesday morning, could you please add your contact information to the sign-up sheet beside the Morning Question just outside of our classroom. This list will allow us, and the PAC, to keep you updated with important information.

Thank you!

Home Reading

Hello parents,

On Fridays, students will be bringing home a book (or two) for Home Reading. They can return the books each Friday, and I will help them choose a  new, appropriately leveled book. However, you are welcome to come in with your child at anytime to do a book exchange with them. If your child finds that the books they are bringing home are not quite appropriate for their reading level (we want them “just right”; not too hard or too easy), I would like to know, so that I may help them choose a perfect fit.

If your child forgets to return their book on Fridays, they can do a book exchange whenever they remember to return their book, but I will not be sending home new books until previous books have been returned.

Enjoy the weekend!

Mrs. Startup
