Dear Parents,
Yesterday students participated in a Discovery Day where they attended various workshops ranging from painting to pottery, visiting the library to dismantling and reassembling old electronics. They had some wonderful stories to share at the end of the day.
Math- please continue to support your children in practicing number stories. Eg. If 5+6= 11, then 11-6= 5 etc. We will be working on more subtraction coming up, as well as doubles (4+4=8, 5+5+2=12) as a means to make adding easier.
In Social Studies we have starting looking at community and neighbourhood.
Homework- many students will be coming home with a New Years Resolution sheet that needs to be COMPLETED and RETURNED to school by FRIDAY January 30. Students need to have at least 3 things that want to try or work on, and some of it needs to be school related, not just their recreational activities. Thank you.
Science- students are looking at Force and Motion. Exploring about things that can be pushed and pulled, and what affects that process.
Spelling- a reminder that students need their Spelling notebook on Monday mornings as we attach our spelling list to it, and do some work related to our words.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Kam
